This is not a typical post for Judah's update, but I'm going to try to 1. start writing more often here and 2. write about our entire family rather than just Judah. I haven't decided if I'm going to start an entire new blog for that purpose and 'ditch' this one or just continue to use this domain since everyone who reads it already has its address.
Anyway...I was hoping to take a little poll for my MD resident readers. Lawrence and I are going to be celebrating our Valentine's Day this Saturday as we figured if we didn't celebrate early, we probably wouldn't get to it with a new baby and his busy season at work.
I'm taking on the arrangements this year and asked what Lawrence would prefer for our dinner out. He just wants to try some place new (to us), preferably in Harford County. We have done many of the chains and some of the restaurants in Havre de Grace. I'm hoping I can get some recommendations from you. It doesn't have to be especially romantic, but I am also not all that interested in a sports bar either. We don't want to pay a lot of money UNLESS the food, service and atmosphere (probably in that order of importance to us) is worth it.
SO, any suggestions?

Hi! We live in Havre de Grace, where I'm a local museum director. I would suggest that you try "The Grist Mill" in Perryville. GREAT food, sophisticated-Chesapeake type menu, reasonable prices - nothing over $24. We were there Saturday night and I had an Oyster Rockefeller casserole, and my companions had a 1/2 rack of ribs w/a crab cake special. The whole bill (for 4) with drinks, came to just over $100. Directions: Go across the Rt. 40 bridge, pay your toll. (or buy a year long sticker for the same $5)Turn right at the first light (Aiken Ave.) and follow it all the way to the end. While you're sitting at the light at the end of the road look across the road to the left. You'll see the Grist Mill. Enjoy!

Sorry, when it comes to Harford Co. I've yet to find a good restaurant that would work for Valentine's Day. Let me know where you end up going and what you think!
Josephs' in Fallson is good, I hear. If not, Manor Tavern in Balto county, not far outside Fallston is incredible! Amazing food, a little more on the pricey side, but well worth it-atmosphere is also great.
I hear that they just added Chicken Nuggets to the $1 Menu at McDonalds! RUN, GIRL, RUN!!!
Suggestions...umm 62 Mountain View. I heard you always leave full!! How are you doing? Gearing up for the big yee haw baby bash? I'm excited. Missing you and the fam something fierce. Love you lots. Hug those boys for me please
I'm with Danielle. Not overly impressed with Harford County. Used to like the Tidewater, but when they served us dinner without linen tablecloths on our anniversary, I crossed them off my "Best of" list.
Joseph's was a letdown for us the one time we went, so maybe a one time rating isn't fair. It was big bucks and only the salad impressed us. You and Danielle put ROY's at the top of my BEST OF list, but you'll have to mosey on down the road a piece.
PS I'm glad you're expanding your posts to include stuff about your whole family. Whatever you decide to do with the URL, we'll find ya!
Hey, we went to the Crack Pot on Saturday night for Josh's B-day. We had the MD crab cakes with cole slaw and baked potato and it was very good! It might be a nice place to try; nothing special but good food, clean, nice atmosphere. Good if you want seafood. Just a thought. Beware of ordering a side salad, it was huge! Good but huge!
