Miracles DO Happen!

Beginning last night, I mentally prepared for today's adventure with the kiddos: a trip to Sears Photo Studio....ALONE! Yes, I went where no mom should go alone and survived! The miracle is that every child remained CLEAN (no clumsy falls into the dirt loading into the car, no juice spills down one's shirt, not even spit up from the baby until right after the photo shoot was over).

As if this isn't enough, NO child threw a temper tantrum, not even mild whining!! My boys obediently held on to the stroller to and from the car (twice because I forgot a coupon in the car and had to go out and get it); they played contentedly with their cars on the floor while I chose photos and sat quietly eating their animal crackers while the photographer shot a few individual poses of Bella. And, while the pictures aren't the most amazing in the world, I walked away with some "good enough" pictures of my babies who are all growing up so fast!

If you'd like to view them, let me know and I'll send you the link. Make sure I have your email address.

Your children are beautiful! What a wonderful memory to go with the pics, too. Bella amazes me - pigtails?? No fair. My girlie still looks like a boy. Bella looks like a "big girl" already. How did that happen? Thanks for sharing.

(And yes, it is wicked hot here, too.)

I unfortunately remember one or two times I took the kids for photos. Every child before Emily and Andrew and Aaron cried during their shoot, my kids remained calm. Until it was their turn, and then wailed as if on cue. One other time, everyone was dressed and ready, etc., and then I closed andrew's fingers in the van's sliding door. Needless to say, no pics that day. I have no good memories of picture taking. Gigi

That is one amazing picture taking story. I'm sure it's a miracle. I notice I have more professional pictures when I had ONE child. Joel has had only one pro photo job done in five years, poor kid.
I would love to see your pics.

me, too!!!

For Tommy's 30th birthday I was going to surprise him with a pic of the girls in pink linen dresses. I went to Picture People too (big bucks!) b/c they do enlargements that day & frame it & everything. We went to spend a few days w/my mom & the night before the picture shoot Norah fell & had a big gash on her bottom lip! We did the pics anyway b/c it makes for a good story, plus it really shows her tomboy personality. It now hangs in our dining room :)

Oh, yeh, the stories of why-we-didn't-or did-anyway w/ regards to pictures are quite noteworthy, too, aren't they? I rember January that Sarah was five. All 3 kids got chicken pox one after another. rMy mom had scheduleda professional family photo of the whole clan cuz my sister was heading off to the Air Force.I said (two weeks beore shoot) if Sarah is clear, we'll go. But she got sick, I forgot about the commitment, forgot about it till my mom called that morning to ask if everyone was ready. For what? Well, long story short, a major conceal job on her already pale face covered all the red scabs. We have more than a pciture, we have a story.

I would love to see the pics, too. I want to show them off to my family. They ask about them all the time. I'm super impressed with your mommy skills, Bri! If we ever have kids, I'd be the one sitting there crying, with a big stain on my shirt! :)

I had my camera in the two year olds class today and your boys LOVED the camera. Adorable smiles too, so I bet your pictures turned out great. :)
